How to choose an AI trainer or AI mentor in India

How do I choose the right AI trainer or AI mentor in India?

Short answer

Choose an AI trainer by evidence, not by claims. A good AI trainer or mentor teaches live, makes you apply AI to your own real work, explains concepts as well as tools, has a background you can verify (for example a public LinkedIn profile and named organisations they have trained), shows fees transparently, and is reachable for questions after the session. Be cautious of guaranteed jobs, "#1" claims and tool lists without practice.

Key takeaways

  • Look for live, hands-on sessions built around your own work.
  • Verify the trainer's background publicly — profile, organisations, topics.
  • Concepts plus tools beats a list of tools.
  • Transparent fees and clear follow-up are signs of a serious trainer.
  • Avoid guaranteed-job, guaranteed-income or "best in India" claims.

Checklist before you choose

Ask these questions of any AI trainer, mentor or workshop provider.

  • Is the training live, with time to practise and ask questions?
  • Will I apply AI to my own study, job or business tasks?
  • Can I verify who the trainer is and where they have taught?
  • Does it cover concepts (how AI works, limits, verification), not just tools?
  • Is the full fee, including GST, stated upfront?
  • Is there support or a community after the sessions?
  • Does it cover responsible use — privacy, accuracy, data safety?

For companies, colleges and associations

When booking an AI workshop for a team, a college or a business community, ask the trainer to shape the agenda around your audience's roles, include live demonstrations and hands-on practice, and agree on what participants should be able to do afterwards.

Red flags

Guaranteed placements or income, rankings with no source, recorded videos sold as "live", no visible fee until a sales call, and no way to verify the trainer's identity.
