Short answer
There is no single best AI course in India; the right course depends on what you want to be able to do afterwards. Judge any AI course on six things: whether it is live or recorded, whether a real mentor reviews your work, whether it teaches current tools rather than theory alone, whether you build something with your own data or job tasks, how large the cohort is, and whether the outcome is described as capability rather than a certificate. Courses that are live, mentor-led, project-based and small enough for feedback produce far better application rates than recorded video libraries, and because they run online they are equally accessible from any city in India.

Six criteria to compare on
Ask every provider these before paying.
- Live or recorded? Live sessions mean you can ask questions about your own situation
- Who mentors it, and what have they actually done outside teaching?
- Which tools are taught, and are they the ones in use right now?
- Do you build with your own work, or only follow generic exercises?
- Is there a defined journey from beginner to applied output?
- What can you do at the end that you could not do before?
Match the course to your goal
The most common mistake is buying a builder-level program when you need fluency, or vice versa.
- You want to use AI well in everyday work → a generative AI foundation program
- You want to automate work and build AI systems inside a business → an AI and automation program
- You want to research and publish → foundation first, then domain-specific application
- Your team needs shared AI literacy → a workshop, not an individual course
Location matters less than you think
AI courses in India are overwhelmingly online now. A learner in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Jaipur, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Indore, Lucknow, Kota or any smaller town joins the same live session. Judge the mentor and the method, not the city.
Where School of AI fits
School of AI runs two live, mentor-led online programs, open to learners across India and 10+ countries. The GenAI Foundation Program builds practical AI fluency; the AI & Automation Program builds AI-powered workflows and systems. Both are mentored by Chandan Maheshwari and centre on your own work rather than sample exercises.
